Naco Week 18

This week Honduras celebrated day of kids! Pretty much they just buy like 500 piñatas and give everyone coca cola and candy. The kids go crazy all day! It was fun! We got to celebrate a little at the end of the day and help the kids it was hilarious!

Well it was a crazy rainy week so when the power went out I would put the mattress on the ground by the door to get some air! It felt great! Coming home super muddy everyday is for sure getting old!

Well it's my last couple of days here in Naco so its been crazy! I feel like I've been here for a year and it's going to be hard to leave the people here! But the change will be great and I get to meet new people and see more places in Honduras! Exciting stuff! I don't have much stuff to say this week I'm sorry but for sure next week you all will get the update! Thank you all for the prayers!

Naco Week 17

My Zone!

Well its been a pretty fast week but full of great experiences! Rained mucho so that has been nice. This morning we woke up to a bunch of bees trying to make a home on our front porch! After using the broom, house and fire they finally have decided to move their casa to a new place. I only got stung a little bit..I call it a win.

In Naco there is a family called Lorenzo that got baptized a year ago. There are like 6 kids but only 3 of them and the mom got baptized. They are pretty active and we always go by to share lessons and stuff like that. The whole family normally joins us and they have a daughter named Ericka. She's about 26 and every time we invite her to go to church she just shruggs it off and moves on. Well the last 3 weeks she has come to church out of the blue and we had a lesson with her and she completely opened up and says she has felt the spirit that she needs to take her 3 kids to church and follow the commandments of God. Truly a great experience and she asked me to give the blessing of her new baby in church yesterday!

So it happened......SADYN GOT BAPTIZED!!!! ahhhhhh what a great/special/spiritual/exciting day! I had the opportunity to baptize her and Elder Coniam baptized her daughter Nohelia! We actually had some people come from Naco to support her so that was nice! The Bishop even came! Idk why I was so nervous but everything went smoothly and everyone could feel the spirit. She is going to be a HUGE help for Naco.

Overall a great week! Someone tried to brake in to our house again but got caught so that's been our drama for the week haha but all is good thank you all for your prayers!

Family!

Wow what a greattttt week! Everything has been working out... it's been so great. At the beginning honestly we had alot of difficulties. We have been doing alot for Naco and at the activities none of the members would do their part. We've just praying really hard for new men investigators and that everyone can start reading the Book of Mormon. And the result was just a week of blessings! 

We were able to find a couple families that all had uncles and brothers and cousins that have accepted our message! And it's been so crazy to see that they all have the opportunity to assist the church. Most are married or they are single. It's just a huge breath of fresh air because there is hardly any complete families here! For about 2 weeks we have been teaching this family and had really great experiences. The father is a Pastor in some random church but since they moved he doesn't go anymore. He's very smart and really understands everything we teach! He reads the Book of Mormon and even fills out all the questions in the pamphlets! Well the other day we stop by and he tells us that he's received an answer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church here in the earth! I was just like amazed because he's like a hard core Pastor! But it's been great with them. They just have to focus on getting married and they will be such a strength for Naco.

Sadyn has like crazy progressed and is more active then the active members! haha. She has started to wake up at 5 every morning to read the B.O.M. and take notes and every day she tells us what she learns and it's been such a big answer to our prayers with her! She said she would like to be baptized this next week so we will see how it goes! She's also has given 5 Book of Mormons to her friends! We told her that if we wanted a church one day we need more men. So she just invites EVERYONE! super awesome.

Denia got baptized! Great week for her. We had a lesson with her earlier and she told us that her entire family has been making fun of her for going to the church. They have been saying many mean comments and she told us she just locked herself in her room and began to read the B.O.M. and felt peace and love come to her and she didn't fight at all with her family! She's such a great example for her family... maybe in the future they will want what she has. Which is what every active member of the church has: HAPPINESS.

On top of all this great stuff we broke record attendance at church this week! 59! Great feeling to see the hand of the Lord.

Naco Week 15

Hey fam!

Kind of a busy week! Tuesday we had a multi- zone conference and it was great to see alot of friends. Then on Saturday we got to hear from President Nelson who was in the Capital! It was so cool to hear his stories! He was HILARIOUS. He would call up some Elders and just make fun of them it was great. He said that we need to have the gospel in our bone marrow. Then he said, so when we give a bone transplant its like spreading the gospel hahahha it was so funny. At that conference I got to see everyyonneeeee it was so nice!

One night I was sleeping and woke up to a spider biting me on my hand! for 2 days my hand was all puffy and red and it itched like crazy! But it finally went down so I'm good now but it was pretty sketch because the spider was HUGE.

I was able to do divisions with the Elders in San Marcos which is forever away so that was also a fun experience!

Really that's alllll about that happened.....sorry....just alot of contacting and trying to find men! On Sunday we gave talks, taught the gospel principles class, and gave a lesson to everyone in the 3rd hour alllll about missionary work! It was alot of talking but it really helped everyone understand their role in the work and we got everyone pumped so we will see  how these weeks go! Love you guys have a great week!

Naco Week 14

Hola Family!

Pretty great week! Also a little stressful. A little bit of everything! Honestly time is just flying by with Elder Coniam. Always a funny comment coming out of his mouth to make me laugh. Not a whole lot to comment on this week but really just walking and teaching you know how it goes! Contacting is not very effective here so we rely on references like crazy. But Hondurans are naturally so shy so its hard to get them out of their comfort zones. But they are starting to trust us more so we will see how it goes!

Really funny experience this week! We were teaching a family outside their house and it was going great. She was cooking chuleta( like fried pig) for us and it was in the kitchen on a plate and all the sudden we hear a CRASH and a dog runs out with a huge piece of meat in his mouth! He ate all of them and the last one made the plate fall! The worst part was he came back like 10 minutes later to see if there was more hahaha it was hilarious!

Well Andrea(15) and Daniel(12) were able to get baptized this week and they were so happy! They have been waiting for a long time now and they noticed a big change in their lives! Sadyn is doing great and her testimony is growing everyday. Little bits of challenges but she is still excited for her baptism!

Naco Week 13

Hey Family!

Pretty awesome week! A lot of success which is just a great feeling. We got a new record of people at church! 54 people! and 9 of our investigators showed up so that was so amazing to see their desire to learn more. Here in Naco I've come to notice that the church is just attacked and attacked and the people who talk to us or who receive us or come to church, get hazed or made fun of. It's really sad but it really shows who the courageous ones are! This last week we had a couple problems with internet pages that were against the church and we lost a lot of great investigators. :( It's pretty sad but maybe with time they will come to realize the truth.

We were able to help again get and chop firewood for the activities the church is doing! We got to help sell the bread and other typical Honduran foods! November they are going to the temple so it's to save for the bus! So our job is to find everyone we can to fill that bus up!

Our investigator Deña is so great and she's is a huge example for her family! They don't want her to get baptized but she told us that she doesn't listen to them and she knows this is the true church! The only problem is that she lives right next to the bishop....over an hour walking to the middle of nowhere haha. We have to do it a lot and it's always a funny experience. Everyone just stares at us like wild animals because they haven't seen missionaries before! But if all goes well she will get baptized with Sadyn this week! For an activity in church Sadyn was challenged to give a B.O.M. to a friend and she found this guy named Arnold and he seems so prepared! Investigators finding investigators!

This last week was changes but I lucked out and me and Coniam are still together! I'm the district leader of 8 missionaries and they are all so great! The only problem is that they live like forever way. This with be a change of success! Some times it seems we have so many challenges or problems and really they end up being so small and we can find the hand of the Lord helping us everyday. I Love being a missionary and helping people come unto Christ!

Naco Week 12

Family!

Great to see everyone at home doing good! I just got done playing soccer again! I know...I know... shocker Elder Sessions playing soccer. Well this Zone has nothing else to do! But the other missionaries are homies so we get along great. 

I'm not going to butter up this week because honestly it was a little challenging haha. We still had some great experiences and I really feel like we were guided by the spirit!

So remember how I was kinda making a joke about the other missionaries that got robbed? Welllllll karma came back to me. People broke into our house! Pretty strange because Naco is suppose to be chill.... Well they broke off the front lock with a hammer and flat head screw driver then went around back and smashed down the back door! They robbed us at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon! Like how does that even happen?! Well we were reallyyyy blessed because we decided not to take out money until today! They only took a little bit of my money, some memories with gospel talks and stuff,  and my little speaker to listen to music. Elder Coniam didn't luck out as much and really got a lot taken. Those guys are really lucky I didn't catch them because I would have given them so many pamphlets...

This Sunday I had the chance to bless a baby! Wow what a cool experience. His name is Jadyn and he's a cutie! The family is really special for the missionaries and the dad we have been teaching for a while and he's been progressing alot! Practice for the future right? ;)

So Sadyn is doing fantastic. We have decided to push the date a little father back just to give her a little more time to prepare. She had a really hard week with people judging her for reading the Book of Mormon at work and by herself she had to defend herself against a jehovah's witness, a Catholic and a Evangelis. She said her best friends turned their backs on her and really it made me think about how blessed we are to be members of this church and not have hate for ANYONE! No one can judge someone trying to get themself to God. Sadyn is strong and says her testimony hasn't wavered! She says there is power in the Book of Mormon!

The bishops family gave us a reference of a lady named Deña. Bishop's family says they have been praying for missionary experiences and the next day Deña showed up and said she wanted to go to church with them! Such a great testimony of prayer and missionary work! She has a date for this 15th and she is progressing alot!
