Naco Week 11

Hey family!

Finally I'm able to write! Power has been out and it keeps going out and coming back. Hope this makes it to you guys. Played some soccer today so that was fun! I got like a year of playing and still get schooled by 13 year olds. It's all good cause I'm gonna keep practicing.

Interesting week! The lights have been going out a lot at nighttime so sleeping has been hard...sweating to death! Besides that we had a great week! Really had some amazing lessons and people are progressing! It's funny our investigators are more active than most of the members! They always come to activities and are at church on time! It's been a great blessing.

Funny story! Wellllll for me at least. So I was on divisions in a different area and when we got back to their house after working we noticed that they had been robbed! An elder was like "hey have you seen my camera" and another was like "all my money is gone" and the other said "They stole all my gum!" like a bunch of 11 yr olds got into the house! They hardly robbed anything and the Elders were all laughing and was like "I'm not going to sleep tonight". Honduras is sketch sometimes.

We were able to help Sadyn take out some walls in her house and dug holes for some posts for a new fence! It was a great time! It felt so cool destroying stuff. The young boy coming out. But Sadyn is seriously the best! We had an activity Sunday about missionary work and she bore her testimony with everyone about the church and helping others find the gospel I was just like open jawed... she's going to be great for Naco! Her baptism is next week so if all goes well we will have a great day Saturday!

I don't have lots of time so I'll put the other stories in next weeks letter! Have a great week!

Naco Week 10

Hey Family!

Really long week this week! I don't know if it was the heat or the walking all day but overall busy busy week. We had interviews with President Dester and that's always nice. He really knows how to talk to us and is a really loving guy. A couple good days this week and a couple so-so days! On Saturday I was so stoked because every hour was full with a set appt and we had a couple members that were going to help us. Well it didn't turn out how we wanted.....There was some huge accident in San Pedro and since there is only a one lane road that goes all through Honduras, traffic was backed up for hoursssss. Everyyyyy single appt fell through because they all work in San Pedro or go there for errands. It was so annoying to change plans but it got better when we were able to find some new familyies to teach. The Lords has his own time frame I guess!

Sadyn is doing sooooo great. She is one of those golden investigators that everyone prays for! Anything we give her to read she reads and really studies! During church and our lessons she takes notes and I have noticed a huge change in her life. They are shutting down the plant where she works at and she tells me, " Elder don't worry I'm only looking for job where I don't have to work Sundays" I was just blown away! Because the people that work on Sundays get a lot more money so it's a huge sacrifice. I dont know if you remember Olga but she and Sadyn are homies so that really helps.

Our best friend - Sadyn's little girl

Remember the Hermana Gloria that left to Costa Rica? Well we have taught her daughter who is 20 he name is Kelly and she is getting baptized in August! She is awesome and really loves the church. But she lives in San Pedro in a different ward The other 2 kids that Gloria has, Andrea and Daniel, as well will get baptized with her! They come to church every week and have grown so much in the gospel. They constantly tell us about how the church helps them not fight as much and how happy they are now!

So everything is going normal here you could say I hope you all have a great week! Thank you for the prayers!

Naco Week 9

Hey everyone!

Well this week's letter is going to be a little different. Honestly don't have a tonnnn to say but over all it was a good week. It was a little rough through the days because any appointment that we had set for the day with someone fell through. I really can't think of any appointments that didn't fall through!  So it was a lot of contacting. Alllll day. We took time to know more of our areas and talk to people that have never seen missionaries so that was nice. Hard to get people to progress without the help of members but we are trying our best!

Sunday was actually the best day because our attendance went from 20-25 to 50! It was great to see so many investigators and less active people come to church. We ran out of chairs but that's a whole different problem haha. Sergio came to church which was a huge blessing! He loved it and got along really well with the members. Katy, well her real name is Sadyn so I'm going to call her that now... is so amazing! She is going through some really hard trials but keeps on going! She loves the church and already has a lot of friends! Great Blessings! well I hope you all have a great week!

Naco Week 8

Hey family!
4th of July! yaaaaa! And I'm really lucky I'm with a gringo so we got to celebrate together. I mean we had sparklers so it wasn't too crazy haha.

Elder Conium and I had a great week here in Naco and we were able to have success! We even had 2 members leave with us to help teach! The hermana Olga who only has one day free from work went with us to everyyyy appt. we had! I really can't describe how amazing this woman is! 6 months as a member and a super strong testimony. And the best part is she knows everyyyyone in Naco so that helps alot.

Making corn tortillas with Olga
We had one day this week where we went to the bishops house to help him on the farm. It was alotttt of work but man did we have a fun time! We started out by branding like 10 cows! It was my favorite part because we got to catch and tackle the cow and watching everyone fall in poop was great. Then for a couple hours we had to haul all of their food which was like mushed up pineapple peels! Smelt so bad because they got hot. Then after we helped put some big posts in for a new roof for the cows. It was great to help out the bishop because he does alot for the ward and really helps alot of people!

One cool experience this week was with a new investigator Sergio. He's like 45 and has lived in the states for more than half of his life and speaks like perfect english. We ended up giving the lesson in English and let me tell you that was the hardest thing of my life.....Like I can talk fine in english but talking about the gospel in english is rough man. He recently had a heart attack and can't work and has zero family. He's going through some very hard trials and has lost all hope in God. We were able to have a very good lesson with him and I could really see him feeling the truth. Teaching of the Lord's atonement makes every lesson a great lesson. Our other investigator Katy has recently had a couple trials and it's amazing to see the hand in the Lord preparing these people for the gospel. She said before she wouldn't have received us because her life was so good she didn't need God. She accepted her baptismal date so it's been a blast teaching her! Love being a missionary! This Church is true!
Love you all!
